Our journey to Golgotha continues and as we journey on, we thank God for all that this day has been and, with a new month beginning tomorrow, look back on the first quarter of the year done and dusted and look expectantly to what's ahead.

Tenebrae (a service of shadows) - Wednesday, 31 March 2021
One of the highlights of holy week for me is this service. Sadly Covid restriction mean that it's streamed and held in the church building this year.
Viewer Alert: Often seems to attract dust that irritates the eyes and make them run!

The lips that sang praise on Palm Sunday cried for Jesus' crucifixion.

Tonight, ending this day with prayer we head towards a new day in which voices will cry Hosanna and sing Jesus' praise - and then, days later, be heard crying 'crucify Him!'
Lord may our hearts, minds and voices be constant in praise and our walk and life be true, always.
Lord may our hearts, minds and voices be constant in praise and our walk and life be true, always.

Compline (night prayer) - Friday, 26 March 2021
Another weekend and a sense of Déjà vu about it all as we pray for the needs of the world and of loved ones.
Will humanity never learn?
Will Church ever stop telling God what to do and just let Him be God?
So many want popular - God just wants holy!

Lord in the Annunciation we see that you have a plan for us, and all things.
As we prepare for our beds we bring all that this day has held (good, bad, blessing and failure) before you, entrusting us and all things into your hands.
Today birth, death and all between it has been our lot - Lord, have mercy upon us.

A year of Covid-19, of lockdown, of death and sorrow.
But nothing, not even this can separate us from the love of God!
We commend those who have gone to God's grace, love, care and mercy;
we commit ourselves to serve, love and bless those around us.
Lord hear our prayers this night.
