As we have almost reached the end of our Advent journey (17 - 23, December) in which the 'O' Antiphons feature and we move towards the celebration of Jesus, the Christ's first advent, take a look at the translation below and ponder upon Jesus, the Christ and his first advent in Bethlehem and let the words of 'O Emmanuel' wash over you:

O Emmanuel, king and lawgiver, 

desire of the nations,

Saviour of all people: 

Come and set us free, Lord our God.
