Many years ago, sitting on an interview panel with someone who was obviously running through a well prepared scripted set of responses I notices that their interests on the CV went something like: walking, music, Reading . . .
So I asked them what they found interesting about the County Town of Berkshire. Lost for words for a few seconds (the first time) and unable to correct me they then wittered on for a couple of minutes about the place. Cruel, I know, but we saw the real person. Then asked about books and they admitted they'd been told to put it there by the agency who had done the initial trawl (along with the coaching on the 'best' responses).
So with that in mind here's a bit of thinking about reading:
