As we end our day and lay all before the Lord, we pray:

In peace I will lie down and sleep,

for it is you Lord, only, who make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4)

Grant us, O Lord, to sleep this night in peace,
that we in communion with You (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
may rise tomorrow and live as one who is pleasing in Your sight. Amen.

On the eve of Trinity Sunday:
May the eternal Trinity, three persons and yet one in substance,
surround us, enfold us and bless us and illuminate the hearts of those far off this night. Amen.

Childlike, in the company of the Father, we bring simple prayers, as we may have been prayed with by a parent, or prayed over our children as parents - we lay ourselves down to sleep:

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
if I should die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take.

The kiss of the Holy Spirit on our head, the arms of the Father enfolding us,
the love of the Son singing over our lives in all that the day has been.
We go to our beds in expectation of the day ahead with joy in the day now ending.

All the day has held we lay before the Lord.
Bring us healing, forgiveness, peace and rest this night.
May your light and love shine on all, near and far off. Amen.
