Do you have a Bible?

Weirdest question of the day thus far has to be that used as title for this post!

The reason they wanted to know was that they have been told that the Bible doesn't say that 'God helps those who help themselves,' and they thought I might know because I probably 'have a Bible!'.

I have to say that like the quote that proclaims: 'A man who defends himself in court has an idiot for a client!' the Bible says of those who seek to 'help themselves' (Prov 28:26) that, 'He who trusts in himself is a fool!' This doesn't mean that self reliance is wrong, but the rock on which we stand should not be of our own making, intellect or assumed authority.

So the simple answer to the question is: No the Bible does not say that!

And do I have a Bible?

Yes - one or two!
