Made me laugh: The CofE doesn't do construction ...

But if it did?

Picture the scene - there's a job to be done. The need has been identified - bollards are needed to stop people parking in an area, simple isn't it?

And here's a picture of the men finishing off after a good day's labour - seven bollards dug into, and cemented, the ground and the slabs around them grouted and made good.

How often do we wish we could do something like this in a Church setting? Understand the need, remedy that need and go home satisfied that that was a job well done?

Of course the blokes in the photo may well be experiencing all of those emotions  - but how they going to get home with the van inside the bollards?

What's known as painting yourself into a corner I believe.
Nice one Vic.

Our church held an Open Door event and having led too many children into the vestry I found I was not only stuck in the corner of the room but no one could get out as the snake behind had filled the corridor. Took twenty minutes to resolve the situation.

Best laid plans of ministers and helpers . . . . . .

Did a funeral where the undertaker turned up 45 mins late because they'd gone to drive past deceased's house but end of the road was closed off and so they led the whole cortege into what had become a cul de sac!

The driver knew the road and forgot to check whether anything had changed in the fifteen years since he'd last been down it :-)

"The best laid plans of mice and men"...... Only needs the human touch doesn't it for it all to go pear-shaped?
