So it's goodbye to Christopher Hitchens
With sharp mind and shrivelled soul
With fluid tongue and a fluid lifestyle to match
A literate Victor Meldrew in looks and tone
Proclaiming religion as merely man-made
But life is surely God given
Now Hitchens is no more yet God goes on
How funny and how sad in equal measure
