A Scouse, a Lamp and one wish remaining

If you were to visit the North-West and find yourself in the city of Liverpool there are some subjects that are guaranteed to start a fight. Start on about Thatcher and you'll be guaranteed a stream of the worst invective possible; to bring about only slightly less vitriol, mention Sir Alex Ferguson and the enemy (Man Utd).

It is for this reason that one of the things that has most made me chuckle looks like this:

'First Margaret Thatcher dies.

Now Ferguson has retired.

Somewhere there is a Scouse with a lamp and one wish remaining!'

Sad - but probably true :-0
